JROTC is a nation-wide program dedicated to building better citizens. The program teaches leadership skills, time management, and money management. Cadets wear Army uniforms on a regular basis and compete in many events involving different activities.

The Mission of the Phelps High School Army JROTC Battalion is to Motivate Young People to Become Better Citizens.

The United States Army's Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, or JROTC, is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline.
